Crankshaft Damper (Balancer)

Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the engine undercover.
  2.  
  3. Securely insert the spindle handle or ratchet handle with a 12.7 mm (1/2-inch) insertion angle into the jig hole of the auto-tensioner.
  4.  
  5. Rotate the auto-tensioner counterclockwise and align hole A with hole B.
  6.  
  7. To reuse the drive belt, draw an arrow indicating the rotating direction (clockwise) on the back of the belt using chalk, etc.
  8.  
  9. Insert an L-shaped hexagon wrench, etc. into the hole to fix and then remove the drive belt.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

  13. Remove the bolt and the crankshaft damper pulley.

  15. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the crankshaft damper pulley bolts to 15-21 ft. lbs. (21-29 Nm).
