Adjustment



The hub/bearing assembly is not adjustable.

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the brake caliper and rotor.
  6.  
  7. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Remove the halfshaft nut, if equipped with 4WD.
    WARNING
    Do not strike the knuckle with a hammer to remove the tie rod end or the ball joint. Damage to the steering knuckle will occur.

  10.  
  11. Pull down on the steering knuckle to separate the halfshaft from the hub/bearing (4WD).
  12.  
  13. Remove the three hub/bearing mounting bolts from the steering knuckle.
  14.  
  15. Slide the hub/bearing out of the steering knuckle.
  16.  
  17. Remove the brake dust shield.

To install:

  1. Install the brake dust shield.
  2.  
  3. Install the hub/bearing into the steering knuckle and tighten the bolts to 120 ft. lbs. (163 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the brake rotor and caliper.
  6.  
  7. Install the ABS wheel speed sensor if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Install the halfshaft nut, if equipped with 4WD. Tighten to 185 ft. lbs. (251 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the wheel.
  12.
