  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wheel, marking the location of the wheel to the hub prior to removal. Mark the individual location of all retainers as they are removed.
  6.  
  7. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Front halfshaft bearing. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Wheel Hub and Bearing, Removal & Installation.-
     
    Lower ball joint. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Lower Ball Joint, Removal & Installation.-
     
    Outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle
     

  8.  
  9. Scribe the strut to the knuckle for reinstallation reference
  10.  
  11. Remove the bolts connecting the strut to the knuckle.
  12.  
  13. Remove the steering knuckle
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Steering knuckle
     
    Bolts which connect the strut to the knuckle, tighten the strut to knuckle bolts to 83 ft. lbs. (112 Nm)
     
    Outer tie rod to the steering knuckle
     
    Front lower control arm ball stud to knuckle; tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm), plus 135 degrees.
     
    Front halfshaft bearing. See Wheel Hub/Bearing Assembly.
     

  2.  
  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm) in a criss-cross pattern, after aligning the wheel hub with the reference mark and holes as shown in appropriate illustration.
  4.  
  5. Lower the vehicle
  6.
