Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm) in a criss-cross pattern, after aligning the wheel hub with the reference mark and holes as shown in appropriate illustration.

    Load level sensor
     
    Clamp holding the right park brake cable to the stabilizer shaft
     
    Left and right side stabilizer shaft insulators and brackets
     
    Left and right stabilizer shaft links
     
    Spare tire from the spare tire hoist
     
    Stabilizer shaft

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Stabilizer shaft
     
    Spare tire to the spare tire hoist
     
    Left and right stabilizer shaft links
     
    Left and right stabilizer shaft insulators and brackets
     
    Clamp holding the right park brake cable to the stabilizer shaft
     
    Load level sensor

  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm) in a criss-cross pattern, after aligning the wheel hub with the reference mark and holes as shown in appropriate illustration.

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6.

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Use a wrench in order hold the stabilizer shaft link and remove the link nuts.
  4.  
  5. Remove the stabilizer link.

To install:

  1. Install the stabilizer link.
    NOTE
    Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the stabilizer link nuts and tighten to 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Lower the vehicle.
