HVAC Module

Removal & Installation



  1. Recover the refrigerant.
  2.  
  3. Remove the left rear quarter trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Drain the cooling system.
  6.  
  7. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the level ride air compressor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the auxiliary A/C line block fitting bolt.
  12.  
  13. Remove the A/C line block fitting.
  14.  
  15. Remove and discard the sealing washers.
  16.  
  17. Cap or tape the A/C lines.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the auxiliary heater hoses from the heater core pipes.
  20.  
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22.  
  23. Remove the auxiliary A/C outlet pillar duct bolts.
  24.  
  25. Remove the auxiliary A/C outlet pillar duct.
  26.  
  27. Remove the auxiliary A/C outlet duct bolts.
  28.  
  29. Remove the auxiliary A/C outlet duct.
  30.  
  31. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
  32.  
  33. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
  34.  
  35. Disconnect the auxiliary temperature actuator electrical connector.
  36.  
  37. Remove the HVAC module assembly bolts and nut.
  38.  
  39. Remove the left power sliding door (PSD) module from the mounting bracket and reposition aside, if equipped.
  40.  
  41. Remove the HVAC module assembly from the vehicle.
  42.  
  43. Remove and discard the HVAC module assembly to body seals.
  44.  

To install:

  1. Install new HVAC module assembly to body seals.
  2.  
  3. Install the HVAC module assembly to the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Install the HVAC module assembly bolts and the nut and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the left PSD module to the mounting bracket.
  8.  
  9. Connect the auxiliary temperature actuator electrical connector.
  10.  
  11. Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary blower motor resistor.
  12.  
  13. Connect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
  14.  
  15. Install the auxiliary A/C outlet duct.
  16.  
  17. Install the auxiliary A/C outlet duct bolts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  18.  
  19. Install the auxiliary A/C outlet pillar duct.
  20.  
  21. Install the auxiliary A/C outlet pillar duct bolts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  22.  
  23. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  24.  
  25. Connect the auxiliary heater hoses to the heater core pipes.
  26.  
  27. Remove the cap or tape from the A/C lines.
  28.  
  29. Install the new sealing washers onto the A/C line.
  30.  
  31. Install the auxiliary A/C line block fitting bolt and tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  32.  
  33. Install the level ride air compressor.
  34.  
  35. Lower the vehicle.
  36.  
  37. Fill the cooling system.
  38.  
  39. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
  40.  
  41. Leak test the fittings of the components.
  42.  
  43. Install the left rear quarter trim panel.
  44.
