WARNING
To prevent damage to the vehicle, two people should perform this procedure.

  1. Open the door and support it under its center using a floor jack.
  2.
  3. Matchmark the door hinge for installation reference.
  4.
  5. Label and disconnect the electrical harnesses.
  6.
  7. Remove the door hinge-to-body attaching bolts and washers.
  8.
  9. Carefully remove the door from the vehicle.
  10.

To install:
  1. Position the door on the vehicle, carefully aligning the matchmarks made during removal.
  2.
  3. Tighten the attaching bolts to 15-21 ft. lbs. (21-28 Nm).
  4.
  5. Carefully close the door to check for proper alignment.
  6.
  7. Readjust the door hinges as necessary.
  8.
  9. Once the door is properly aligned, adjust the door lock (striker).
  10.

ADJUSTMENT

  1. Determine which hinge bolts must be loosened to move the door in the desired direction.
  2.
  3. Matchmark the hinge to the door as a starting reference.
  4.
  5. Loosen the hinge bolts just enough to permit movement of the door with a padded prybar, but not loose enough to permit the door to move on its own.
  6.
  7. Move the door the distance estimated to obtain the desired fit.
  8.
  9. Tighten the door hinge-to-body bolts to 15-21 ft. lbs. (21-28 Nm).
  10.
  11. Check the door to ensure that it closes properly and that there is no binding or interference with the adjacent panel.
  12.
  13. Repeat the operation until the desired fit is obtained.
  14.
  15. Check the door lock (striker) alignment for proper door closing, and adjust as necessary.
  16.
