  1. Remove the driveshaft.
  2.  
  3. Loosen the drive pinion nut. A companion flange holding tool can be manufactured from a piece of steel.
  4.  
  5. Matchmark and remove the companion flange, using a jaw type puller.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front oil seal from the differential carrier.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Apply multi-purpose grease to the sealing lips of the oil seal.
  2.  
  3. Press the front oil seal into the carrier using a seal driver.
  4.  
  5. Install the companion flange and drive pinion nut.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the drive pinion nut to 137-217 ft. lbs. (186-294 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the driveshaft.
  10.
