    Rear Load Leveling Suspension Height Sensor

    Removal & Installation



    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
    2.  
    3. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
    4.  
    5. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies.
    6.  
    7. Release the air pressure from the rear load leveling air suspension system using the CONSULT-II EXHAUST SOLENOID active test.
    8.  
    9. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the height sensor.
    10.  
    11. Remove the two height sensor bolts and the height sensor arm bracket bolt.
    12.  
    13. Remove the height sensor.
    14.  

    To install:

    1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
    2.  
    3. Start the engine.
    4.  
    5. Use CONSULT-II to perform STANDARD HEIGHT LEVEL work support function.
    6.  
    7. Using the data monitor function of the CONSULT-II tool, verify HEIGT CALC is at 0 mm. Check the vehicle height. If not within plus/minus 0-0.39 inch, perform the initialization procedure.
    8.  
    9. To perform the initialization procedure use CONSULT-II tool, CLEAR HEIGHT INI in the work support function to clear the initialization flag and value.
    10.  
    11. The CK SUSP warning light should illuminate.
    12.  
    13. Using the CONSULT-II tool, EXHAUST SOLENOID active test, release the air pressure from the rear load leveling air suspension system.
    14.  
    15. Roll the vehicle forward and backward.
    16.  
    17. Use the CONSULT-II tool, ADJUST HEIGHT INI work support function to set the initialization condition.
    18.  
    19. Confirm that CK SUSP warning light is off.

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

    3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    4.  
    5. Remove the left side interior trim panel.
    6.  
    7. Disconnect the suspension control unit electrical connector.
    8.  
    9. Remove the retaining two bolts.
    10.  
    11. Remove the control unit.
    12.  

    To install:

    1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
    2.  
    3. If the control unit has not been replaced: perform the initialization procedure use CONSULT-II tool, CLEAR HEIGHT INI in the work support function to clear the initialization flag and value. The CK SUSP warning light should illuminate. Using the CONSULT-II tool, EXHAUST SOLENOID active test, release the air pressure from the rear load leveling air suspension system. Roll the vehicle forward and backward. Use the CONSULT-II tool, ADJUST HEIGHT INI work support function to set the initialization condition. Confirm that CK SUSP warning light is off.
    4.  
    5. If the control unit has been replaced: roll the vehicle forward and backward. Use the CONSULT-II tool, ADJUST HEIGHT INI work support function to set the initialization condition. Confirm that CK SUSP warning light is off.
