Brake Disc (Rotor)

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain brake fluid.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    Prior to removing brake disc, make alignment mark using a marker between the hub and rake disc, if reusing disc rotor.



    Front wheels
     
    Union bolt if necessary, and torque member bolts using power tool, then remove caliper assembly.
     



    Brake disc

To install:


CAUTION
Refill with new recommended brake fluid. Never reuse drained brake fluid.


NOTE
Align marks made during removal on the hub and disc rotor, if reusing disc rotor.

  1. Install brake disc.
    CAUTION
    When attaching the caliper assembly to the vehicle, wipe any oil off the knuckle spindle washers and caliper assembly attachment surfaces.

  3. Install caliper assembly to the vehicle.
    CAUTION
    Do not reuse the copper washer for union bolts. Attach the brake hose to the protrusion on the caliper assembly attachment part.

  4.  
  5. Install brake hose to the caliper assembly, and tighten union bolt to: 13-14 ft. lbs. (17-20 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Refill reservoir with new brake fluid and bleed air
  8.  
  9. Install wheel and tire.
  10.
