NOTE
On 350Z models, the fuel filter and fuel pump are replaced as an assembly. See the fuel pump procedure to remove the fuel filter on these models.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Properly relieve fuel system pressure.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel hose clamps
     
    Hoses from the fuel filter
     
    Bolt securing the filter to the bracket or the filter from the bracket clips
     
    Filter

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    New filter and secure the filter in the bracket
     

  2.  
  3. If necessary, replace the fuel line hoses and hose clamps

    Fuel hoses and tighten the clamps
     
    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel pump fuse
     

  4.  
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  6.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Properly relieve fuel system pressure.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel hose clamps
     
    Hoses from the fuel filter
     
    Bolt securing the filter to the bracket or the filter from the bracket clips
     
    Filter

  6.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    New filter and secure the filter in the bracket
     

  2.  
  3. If necessary, replace the fuel line hoses and hose clamps

    Fuel hoses and tighten the clamps
     
    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel pump fuse
     

  4.  
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  6.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.

  3. Properly relieve fuel system pressure.

  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Rear seat bottom
     
    Inspection hole cover
     
    Electrical and quick connectors
     
    Six screws
     
    Fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump assembly
     
    Flange and snap fit portion of the fuel pump
     
    Fuel tank temperature sensor harness
     
    Fuel level sensor flange
     
    Fuel pump connector
     
    Quick connectors from the fuel level sensor
     
    Fuel level sensor from the chamber
     
    Fuel filter from the chamber

  6.  
  7. Install or connect the following:

    Fuel filter to the chamber
     
    Fuel level sensor to the chamber
     
    Quick connectors to the fuel level sensor
     
    Fuel pump connector
     
    Fuel level sensor flange
     
    Fuel tank temperature sensor harness
     
    Fuel pump assembly to the fuel tank
     
    Screws and electrical connectors
     
    Quick connectors
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  8.  
  9. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.

    Inspection hole cover
     
    Rear seat bottom
     

  10.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Properly relieve fuel system pressure.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel hose clamps
     
    Hoses from the fuel filter
     
    Bolt securing the filter to the bracket or the filter from the bracket clips
     
    Filter

  6.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    New filter and secure the filter in the bracket
     

  2.  
  3. If necessary, replace the fuel line hoses and hose clamps

    Fuel hoses and tighten the clamps
     
    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel pump fuse
     

  4.  
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.

    Fuel level sensor flange

    Quick connectors from the fuel level sensor
     
    Fuel level sensor from the chamber
     
    Fuel filter from the chamber

  6.  
  7. Install or connect the following:

    Fuel filter to the chamber
     
    Fuel level sensor to the chamber
     
    Quick connectors to the fuel level sensor
     
    Fuel pump connector
     
    Fuel level sensor flange
     
    Fuel tank temperature sensor harness
     
    Fuel pump assembly to the fuel tank
     
    Screws and electrical connectors
     
    Quick connectors
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  8.  
  9. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.

    Inspection hole cover
     
    Rear seat bottom
