NOTE
Upper and lower O-rings are different. The Blue rings go on the fuel tube side and the Brown rings go on the nozzle side.

  1. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the new O-rings, install them on the injectors, then press the injector into the fuel rail.
  2.
  3. Install or connect the following:

    New injector retaining clips

    Intake manifold spacers

Fuel rail mounting bolts in sequence and tighten to 8 ft. lbs. (11 Nm), then to 16-19 ft. lbs. (21-27 Nm).

    Fuel injector harness connectors

Upper and lower intake manifold collectors

Under vehicle fuel line quick connectors

    Fuel feed hose and damper

    Engine cover

    Negative battery cable

  4.
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  6.

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable

    Intake manifold collector

Vacuum hose from the pressure regulator

    Fuel hoses from the rail

    Injector electrical connectors

    Fuel rail bolts

  2.
  3. To remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail, expand and remove the clips securing the injectors and press the fuel injector out from the fuel rail. Discard the O-rings.
  4.

To install:

  1. Install new O-rings onto the fuel injector.
  2.
  3. Wet the new O-rings with a thin coating of oil and press the injector into the fuel rail.
  4.
  5. Install new injector retaining clips.
