Power Windows



Diagnosis & Testing
  1. If none of the power windows can be operated using any switch, check the following:

    10A fuse, 30A fusible link
     
    M6 circuit breaker
     
    Power window relay
     
    M6 circuit breaker and power window relay related wiring
     
    Ground circuit
     
    Main power window and door lock/unlock switch
     

  2.  
  3. If Driver side power window cannot be operated but other windows can be operated, check the following:

    Driver side power window regulator circuit
     
    Driver side power window regulator
     
    Main power window and door lock/unlock switch circuit
     
    Main power window and door lock/unlock switch
     

  4.  
  5. If one or more power windows except driver's side window cannot be Operated, check the following:

    Power window sub-switches
     
    Power window regulators
     
    Main power window and door lock/unlock switch
     
    Power window circuit
     

  6.  
  7. If the power windows except driver's side window cannot be operated using main power window and door lock/unlock switch but can be operated by power window sub-switch, check the following:

    Main power window and door lock/unlock switch

Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove front door finisher
  6.  
  7. Remove mounting bolts, and remove module assembly.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect harness connector for the module assembly, and unclip the harness from the back.
  10.  
  11. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  12.  
  13. Check regulator assembly for the following items. If a malfunction is detected, replace or grease it.
  14.  
  15. Apply grease to the areas indicated in the illustration.

Front
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front door speaker.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inside seal.
  8.  
  9. Remove 2 hole covers over glass bolts.
  10.  
  11. Temporarily reconnect the negative battery cable and power window main switch and raise/lower the door window until the glass bolts can be seen.

  13. Remove the glass bolts.
  14.  
  15. Raise the front door glass and hold in place with suitable tool.
  16.  
  17. Remove the bolts and the module assembly.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the harness connector for the module assembly, and unclip the harness from the back. Remove module.
  20.  
  21. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten the glass bolts to: 46-61 inch lbs. (5-7 Nm).

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Temporarily reconnect the negative battery cable and power window switch and raise/lower the door window until the glass bolts can be seen.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glass bolts, and place the glass on the inner bottom of the panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove motor assembly.
  10.  
  11. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten the glass bolts to: 38-52 inch lbs. (4-6 Nm).
  12.  
  13. Check that the glass is securely fit into the glass run groove.
  14.  
  15. Lower the glass approximately 0.39 to 0.79 in (10 to 20 mm) and check that the clearance to the sash is parallel. If the clearance between the glass and sash is not parallel, loosen the regulator bolts, guide rail bolts, glass and carrier plate bolts to correct the glass position.
