Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the cooling system.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Coolant reservoir tank and bracket
     
    Upper mounting bracket
     
    Upper radiator hose
     
    Oil cooler lines, if equipped
     
    Lower radiator hose
     
    Cooling fan and condenser fan
     
    Fan motors and shields
     
    Radiator
     

  6.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Radiator
     
    Fan motors and shields
     
    Cooling and condenser fans and torque the bolts to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm)
     
    Lower radiator hose
     
    Oil cooler lines, if equipped
     
    Upper radiator hose
     
    Upper mounting bracket
     
    Coolant reservoir tank and bracket and torque the bolt to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm)
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  2.  
  3. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.
  4.  
  5. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.
  6.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:
    CAUTION
    Do not damage or scratch air conditioner condenser and radiator core when removing.



    Negative battery cable
     
    Fresh air duct
     
    Radiator upper and lower hoses
     
    A/T fluid cooler hoses, if equipped. Plug hoses to prevent A/T fluid leakage.
     



    Radiator and radiator fan assembly to radiator

  7. To install, reverse removal procedure

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:
    CAUTION
    Do not pull on the tabs excessively.


    CAUTION
    Do not damage or scratch air conditioner condenser and radiator core when removing.



    Negative battery cable
     
    Fresh air duct
     
    Radiator upper and lower hoses
     
    A/T fluid cooler hoses, if equipped. Plug hoses to prevent A/T fluid leakage.
     
    Reservoir tank hose
     



    Radiator upper clips by pulling the tabs outside to release the lock
     
    Cooling fan assembly to radiator bolts
     



    Radiator
     

  6.  

To install:

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure while paying attention to the following:

    Install the rubber on mounting pin of radiator core.
     
    Align the radiator upper clip with the radiator core connector, then insert the radiator upper clip straight into the radiator core connections until a click is heard.
     
    After connecting the radiator upper clip, Visually confirm that the two radiator upper clips are connected to the radiator core connections.
     
    Move the radiator upper clip and the radiator core forward and backward to make sure they are securely connected.
