REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



610, 710, and 1977-79 200SX
  1. Remove the heater unit from the vehicle.
  2.  

You may be able to remove the blower on some models without removing the heater unit from the vehicle.

  1. Remove the three or four screws holding the blower motor in the case and remove the motor with the fan attached.
  2.  
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Refer to the exploded view of the heater assembly.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the instrument panel lower cover and cluster lid on the right-hand side.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the control cable and harness connector from the blower unit.
  4.  
  5. Remove the three bolts and remove the blower unit.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three screws holding the blower motor in the case, unplug the hose running from the rear of the motor into the case and pull the motor together with the fan cage out of the case.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the electrical connection is installed in the correct position.

810 and Maxima

It may be necessary to remove the glove box assembly to gain clearance for heater blower removal and installation. The blower motor is located behind the glove box, facing the floor.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the heater duct running from the blower case to the heater unit.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the control cable from the blower case and the harness connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the screws holding the blower case in place and remove the blower case.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three bolts holding the blower motor in place and remove the blower motor.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the electrical connection is installed in the correct position.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and the blower motor harness connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the blower motor by removing the three outer retaining screws and pulling the motor with the fan out of the case.
  4.  

Make sure you remove the three outer screws and not the three screws holding the motor to the backing plate.

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the electrical connection is installed in the correct position.
