REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

610 and 710

The heater unit need not be removed to remove the heater core. It must be removed to remove the blower motor.

  1. Drain the coolant and remove the coolant hoses.
  2.

CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

  1. Disconnect the control cables on the sides of the heater unit.
  2.
  3. Remove the clips and the cover from the front of the heater unit. Pull out the core.
  4.
  5. Reverse the procedure for installation. Run the engine with the heater on for a few minutes to make sure that the system fills with coolant. Always use new heater hose clamps.
