  2.
  3. Align the turn signal cancel tab with the notch of the combination switch (see illustration).
  4.
  5. Rotate the spiral cable fully (clockwise) until tight.
  6.
  7. Rotate the spiral cable (counterclockwise) approximately 2.5 turns from the neutral position if the vehicle is equipped with power steering and approximately 4.0 turns from the neutral position if the vehicle is not equipped with power steering. Align the white pin with the arrow on the housing.
    NOTE
When the spiral cable is centered, the white pin is aligned with the arrow on the housing and the yellow wheel shows in the window.

    CAUTION
The spiral cable may snap during steering operation if the spiral cable is installed in an improper position. Also, with the steering linkage disconnected, the cable may snap by turning the steering wheel beyond the specified number of turns.

    NOTE
Always perform the SRS self diagnostics check after installing the air bag module.

  14.
  15. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  16.
  17. Conduct the self diagnosis test to ensure the entire SRS system operates properly. Use the CONSULT-II or equivalent to perform this operation.
  18.
  19. Turn The steering wheel fully to the right and left to check that the spiral cable is set in the neutral position.
  20.
  21. If the -AIR BAG- warning lamp blinks (in user mode) it shows that the spiral cable may be snapped due to improper positioning. Perform the self diagnosis test again with the CONSULT-II or equivalent. Correct as required.
