Removal & Installation



Actuator
1998-2000 Frontier With 2wd And 2001 With 2.4L Engine

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Drain the brake fluid into a suitable container and dispose of properly.
  4.  
  5. Using the proper tool, flare nut wrench, disconnect the brake lines.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the connectors.
  8.  
  9. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the actuator from the vehicle.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the brake system, be sure to use new brake fluid.
  4.

1998-2000 Frontier With 4wd And 2001 With 3.3L Engine

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Drain the brake fluid into a suitable container and dispose of properly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the actuator harness from the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
  6.  
  7. Using the proper tool, flare nut wrench, disconnect the brake lines.
  8.  
  9. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the brake system, be sure to use new brake fluid.
  4.
