  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the retaining pin and separate the clutch master cylinder rod from the clutch pedal.
  6.  
  7. Remove the necessary components to gain access to the clutch master cylinder retaining bolts.
  8.  
  9. Drain the clutch master cylinder. Discard the fluid. Do not allow fluid to spill on the painted surface of the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect and plug the fluid line.
  12.  
  13. Remove the master cylinder retaining bolts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the master cylinder from the vehicle.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the clutch system, as required.
  4.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the snap pin from the clevis, and separate it from the clutch pedal.
  6.  
  7. Drain the fluid from the clutch master cylinder. Do not allow fluid to spill on the painted surface of the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the hose clamp and hose from the clutch master cylinder.
  10.  
  11. Remove the clutch tube, using a suitable tool.
  12.  
  13. Remove the clutch master cylinder retaining bolts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the clutch master cylinder from the vehicle.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Before installation check the position of the clevis and push rod. It should be 4.70 inch for the 2.5L engine and 4.74 inch for the 4.0L engine.
  4.  
  5. Adjust the clutch pedal. Bleed the clutch system, as required.
  6.
