Removal & Installation
Motor

When removing the motor be sure that the sunroof is in the fully closed position. Never run the removed motor as a single unit. After removing the motor do not attempt to rotate it as a single unit.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Position the sunroof in the fully closed position.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front roof console assembly.

  9. Disconnect the harness connector from the sunroof motor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the motor retaining screw.
  12.  
  13. Remove the motor from its mounting.
  14.  

To install:


NOTE
Before installing the motor, be sure to place the link and wire assembly in the symmetrical and fully closed position.

  1. Move the motor laterally a little at a time so that the gear is completely engaged into the wire on the sunroof unit and the mounting surface becomes parallel.
  2.  
  3. Secure the retaining bolts.
  4.  
  5. Connect the wiring harness.
  6.  
  7. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.
  8.  
  9. Reset the sunroof memory as follows (initialization procedure).
  10.  
  11. Press the switch to the UP/CLOSE position and tilt the sunroof up fully. When the sunroof reached the full tilt up position it will back up a few millimeters and stop.
  12.  
  13. Release the UP/CLOSE switch.
  14.  
  15. Within five seconds of releasing the UP/CLOSE switch, press and hold the UP/CLOSE switch again. The sunroof will move to the full open position and back to the closed position.
    NOTE
    If the UP/CLOSE switch is released anytime during this process, all learned profile data will be discarded and the procedure will have to be repeated.

  17. Release the UP/CLOSE switch. Do not disconnect the power for at least two seconds.
  18.  
  19. The initialization procedure is complete. Confirm proper operation and correct as required.

Switch
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the switch assembly.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
