Brake Pads

Removal & Installation



  1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle, then remove the wheels.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bottom pin from the caliper and swing the caliper cylinder body upward; support the caliper with a wire.
  4.  
  5. Remove the brake pad retainers, shims and the pads.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Compress the piston of the disc brake caliper.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake pads and caliper assembly. Torque the guide pin to 17-22 ft. lbs. (22-31 Nm).
  4.  

  1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle, then remove the wheels.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bottom pin from the caliper and swing the caliper cylinder body upward; support the caliper with a wire.
  4.  
  5. Remove the brake pad retainers, shims and the pads.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Compress the piston of the disc brake caliper.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake pads and caliper assembly. Torque the guide pin to 17-22 ft. lbs. (22-31 Nm).
  4.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the brake fluid, as necessary.
  4.  
  5. Raise the vehicle and support safely.
  6.  
  7. Remove the bottom pin from the caliper and swing the caliper cylinder body upward; support the caliper with a wire.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake pad retainers, shims and the pads.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Compress the piston of the disc brake caliper.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake pads and caliper assembly.
  4.
