  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the necessary components in order to gain access to the power steering pump retaining bolts.
  6.  
  7. Drain the power steering fluid. Properly dispose of used fluid.
  8.  
  9. Remove the drive belt.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect and plug the fluid lines.
  12.  
  13. Remove the pump retaining bolts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the power steering system.
  4.  
  5. Adjust the belt tension, as required.
  6.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir tank. Properly dispose of used fluid.
  6.  
  7. On the 4.0L engine, remove the engine cover.
  8.  
  9. Remove the air duct assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the drive belt.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the pressure sensor electrical connector.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect and plug the fluid lines.
  16.  
  17. Remove the pump retaining bolts.
  18.  
  19. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Bleed the power steering system.
  4.  
  5. Adjust the belt tension, as required.
  6.
