To install:

WARNING
Be sure to lubricate all of the moving surfaces with fresh oil before installation.

  1. With the No. 1 piston set on the TDC of it's compression stroke, install the left side rocker arm/shaft assembly and torque the rocker arm/shaft assembly-to-cylinder head bolts, in 2-3 steps, to 13-16 ft. lbs. (18-22 Nm).
  2.

When installing the rocker arm/shaft assembly to cylinder head bolts, dip the threaded portion of each bolt in fresh engine oil before installation. This will ensure a correct torque reading.

  1. Rotate the crankshaft 360° and position the No. 4 piston on the TDC of it's compression stroke. Install the right side rocker arm/shaft assembly and torque the rocker arm/shaft assembly-to-cylinder head bolts, in 2-3 steps, to 13-16 ft. lbs. (18-22 Nm).
  2.

The right side of the engine incorporates cylinders No. 1, 3 and 5. The left side of the engine incorporates cylinders No. 2, 4 and 6.

  1. Install the valve cover.
  2.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check the engine operation.
  4.
