REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Open and support the hood.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the hood hinges to the hood for installation reference.
  4.  
  5. Note the spacing between the front fender and hood for alignment reference.
  6.  
  7. Protect the body with a cover to prevent damage to the paint.
  8.  
  9. Remove the hood hinge-to-hood attaching bolts.
  10.  

Take care not to let the hood slip when the bolts are removed.

  1. Remove the hood from the vehicle.
  2.  

To install:
  1. Position the hood on the vehicle and hand-tighten the retaining bolts.
  2.  
  3. Align the matchmarks and tighten the hood hinge bolts securely.
  4.  
  5. Carefully lower the hood to check for proper alignment.
  6.  
  7. Adjust the hood alignment as necessary.
  8.  

ALIGNMENT



  1. The hood can be adjusted fore-and-aft and side-to-side by loosening the hood hinge retaining bolts.
  2.  
  3. Reposition the hood as required and tighten the hood hinge bolts to 12-15 ft. lbs. (16-21 Nm).
  4.  
  5. To raise or lower the hood in relation to the fenders, add spacers between the hood and hinges.
  6.  
  7. Check the hood lock (striker) alignment for proper hood closing, and adjust as necessary.
