Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cap from the inside handle portion of the door panel. Remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw retaining the grip handle.
  10.  
  11. Remove the pull handle cap and remove the retaining screw.
  12.  
  13. Remove the power window switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  14.  
  15. Remove the screws on the power window switch side portion.
  16.  
  17. Insert a flat bladed tool between the panel on the vehicle and the retaining clips. Remove the door panel.
  18.  
  19. Pull up on the panel and remove the electrical connectors.
  20.  
  21. Remove the lock knob cable, inside handle cable and illumination harness connector from the backside of the inside handle assembly.
  22.  
  23. Remove the inside handle screws and completely remove the door panel from the vehicle.
  24.  
  25. Disconnect the inside handle knob cable and lock knob cable from the back side of the door panel.
  26.  
  27. Remove the door glass and module assembly.
  28.  
  29. Remove the door side grommet, and remove the door key cylinder assembly (drivers side) or the outside handle escutcheon (passenger side) from the grommet hole.
  30.  
  31. Separate the key cylinder rod connection (on the handle).
  32.  
  33. While pulling the outside handle, remove then door key cylinder assembly (driver-s side) or the outside handle escutcheon (passenger side).
  34.  
  35. Disconnect the door request switch connector, if equipped with intelligent key system.
  36.  
  37. While pulling the outside handle, slide it toward the rear of the vehicle to remove the handle.
  38.  
  39. Remove the front and rear gasket.
  40.  
  41. Remove the outside handle bracket retaining bolt.
  42.  
  43. While pulling the outside handle bracket, slide it toward the front of the vehicle to remove the outside handle bracket.
  44.  
  45. Separate the outside cable connection.
  46.  
  47. Remove the door lock assembly.
  48.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. When installing each rod, be sure to rotate the rod holder until a click is felt.
  4.  

Rear Doors

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cap from the inside handle portion of the door panel. Remove the screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inside handle escutcheon.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw retaining the grip handle.
  10.  
  11. Remove the pull handle cap and remove the retaining screw.
  12.  
  13. Remove the power window switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  14.  
  15. Remove the screws on the power window switch side portion.
  16.  
  17. Insert a flat bladed tool between the panel on the vehicle and the retaining clips. Remove the door panel.
  18.  
  19. Pull up on the panel and remove the electrical connectors.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect the inside handle knob cable and lock knob cable from the back side of the door panel.
  22.  
  23. Remove the door sealing, glass and corner piece assembly.
  24.  
  25. Remove the door side grommet, and remove the outside handle escutcheon bolt from the grommet.
  26.  
  27. While pulling the outside handle, remove the outside handle escutcheon.
  28.  
  29. While pulling the outside handle, slide it toward the rear of the vehicle to remove the outside handle.
  30.  
  31. Remove the front and rear gasket.
  32.  
  33. Remove the bolt and remove the outside handle bolt.
  34.  
  35. While pulling on the outside handle, slide it toward the front of the vehicle to remove the outside handle bracket.
  36.  
  37. Separate the outside handle cable connection.
  38.  
  39. Remove the lock retaining bolts. Remove the lock assembly from the vehicle.
  40.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. When installing each rod, be sure to rotate the rod holder until a click is felt.
  4.  

Door Lock Switch
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry upward on the switch assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the switch assembly.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.
