Removal & Installation



Front Lower Link (Lower Control Arm)
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the coil spring.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel sensor and sensor harness from the axle and suspension arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the retaining bolt in the lower side of the shock absorber.
  10.  
  11. Remove the stabilizer bushing and clamp from the suspension member.
  12.  
  13. Remove the retaining bolt and nut between the front lower link and the suspension member.
  14.  
  15. Remove the retaining bolt and nut between the front lower link and the axle.
  16.  
  17. Remove the front lower link from the vehicle.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Be sure to replace all non reusable components with new ones.
    NOTE
    Perform final tightening of the rear suspension member and axle installation position under unladen conditions with tires on level ground.

  5. Check and adjust the rear alignment, as necessary.
  6.  

Radius Arm
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the coil spring.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel sensor and sensor harness from the axle and suspension arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the retaining bolt in the lower side of the shock absorber.
  10.  
  11. Remove the retaining bolt and nut in the axle side of the front lower link.
  12.  
  13. Loosen the retaining bolt and nut of the front lower link in the side of the suspension member.
  14.  
  15. Remove the retaining bolt and nut in the axle side of the radius rod.
  16.  
  17. Remove the retaining bolt in the rear suspension member side of the radius rod. Remove the radius rod from the vehicle.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Be sure to replace all non reusable components with new ones.
    NOTE
    Perform final tightening of the rear suspension member and axle installation position (rubber bushing) under unladen conditions with tires on level ground.

  5. Check and adjust the rear alignment, as necessary.
  6.  

Suspension Arm (Upper Control Arm)
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the coil spring.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel sensor and sensor harness from the axle and suspension arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the stabilizer connecting rod mounting bracket from the suspension arm.
  10.  
  11. Position a jack under the front lower link.
  12.  
  13. Remove the fuel filler tube retaining bolt, left side only.
  14.  
  15. Remove the retaining nuts and bolts between the suspension arm and the rear suspension member.
  16.  
  17. Remove the cotter pin from the suspension arm ball joint. Loosen the nut.
  18.  
  19. Use a ball joint remover tool and remove the suspension arm from the axle. Be careful not to damage the ball joint boot.
  20.  
  21. Remove the suspension arm from the vehicle.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Be sure to replace all non reusable components with new ones.
    NOTE
    Perform final tightening of the rear suspension member installation position (rubber bushing) under unladen conditions with tires on level ground.

  5. Check and adjust the rear alignment, as necessary.
