Wheel Speed Sensor Rotors (Toothed Rings)

Removal & Installation



Front
  1. Remove the front wheel hub.
  2.  
  3. Remove the sensor rotor using suitable puller, drift and bearing replacer.

To install:

  1. Install the sensor rotor using suitable drift and press.
    NOTE
    Always replace sensor rotor with new one. Play attention to the direction of front sensor rotor as shown in the accompanying illustration.

  3. Install the front wheel hub.

The wheel sensor rotors are part of the wheel hubs and are not separately replaceable. If the sensor is damaged, the wheel hub and bearing assembly must be replaced, as outlined in the Suspension and Steering Section.

Rear
  1. Remove the rear wheel hub.
  2.  
  3. Remove the sensor rotor using the special tool, as shown in the accompanying illustration.

To install:

  1. Install the sensor rotor using suitable drift and press.
    NOTE
    Always replace sensor rotor with new one. Play attention to the direction of front sensor rotor as shown in the accompanying illustration.

  3. Install the rear wheel hub.

NOTE
The following special tools, or their equivalents are necessary for this procedure:



205-D002, Bearing Replacer
 
ST3072000 (J-25405)
 
ST27863000
 
KV40104710
 

  1. Remove the side flange from final drive assembly. Discard side oil seal.
  2.  
  3. Using Bearing Replacer Tool 205-D002, or equivalent, and a suitable puller, remove sensor rotor from side flange.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Install the new sensor rotor on side flange using the special tools as shown and a press. Make sure sensor rotor is fully seated.
    WARNING
    Do not reuse the old sensor rotor.

  3. Install the side flange to final drive assembly using a new side oil seal.
    WARNING
    Do not reuse the side oil seal. The side oil seal must be replaced every time the side flange is removed from the final drive assembly
