REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Four Cylinder Engines
  1. Remove the front cover.
  2.  
  3. Pry the old seal from the cover with a pointed piece of plastic or wood. Do not use a screwdriver in order to avoid scratching the seal surface.
  4.  
  5. Oil the lip of the new seal. Do not use grease. Press it into place, making sure the flat side faces forward and the lip faces the engine.
  6.  
  7. Install the front cover.
  8.

VG30i Engines

The front oil seal is a part of the oil pump assembly. To replace the oil pump seal, please refer to the Oil Pump Removal and Installation procedures in this section.
