REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Manual Lock

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support the front axle on stands.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheels.
  4.  
  5. Set the knob of the manual lock to the free position.
  6.  
  7. Remove the locking hub cover using a Torx wrench, while the brake pedal is depressed.
  8.  
  9. Remove the snapring and pull out the drive clutch.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the drive clutch and snapring. Make sure the hub is in the free position.
  2.  
  3. Install the hub cover and tighten the bolts to 18-25 ft. lbs. (25-34 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the wheels, remove the stands and lower the vehicle.
  6.

Auto Lock

See Figures 4 through 17

  1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support the front axle on jackstands.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheels.
  4.  
  5. Set the auto-lock free-running hub to the free position.
  6.

  1. Remove the locking hub cover using a Torx wrench, while the brake pedal is depressed.
  2.  
  3. Remove the spring, brake A , the snapring using the appropriate pliers, then remove washer B , washer A and brake B .
  4.  
  5. If wheel bearing removal is desired, after removing the auto lock hub assembly components remove the lock washer set screw. Remove the lock washer for access to the wheel bearing locknut, then remove the locknut and the wheel bearing is free for removal.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Make sure the hub is in the free position and then install washer B , washer A and brake B .
  2.  
  3. Install the snapring.
  4.  
  5. Install the hub cover and tighten the bolts to 18-25 ft. lbs. (25-34 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the wheels, remove the stands and then lower the vehicle.
  8.
