  2.
  3. Remove the cowl top and cowl top extension.
  4.
  5. Remove the engine cover using power tool.
  6.
  7. Remove upper air cleaner case, Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, and air cleaner-to-electric throttle control actuator tube as an assembly.
  8.
  9. Partially drain the coolant when the engine is cool.
  10.
  11. Disconnect the following:
    1. Power brake booster vacuum hose.
    2.
    3. Coolant hoses from the intake manifold collector

    13. EVAP canister purge hose.
    14.
    15. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) temperature sensor electrical connector.
    16.

  12.

NOTE
Cover any engine openings to avoid the entry of any foreign material.

  1. Remove the EGR tube-to-lower intake manifold collector nuts.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the power steering hose bracket from the back of the intake manifold collector.
  4.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister purge volume solenoid valve bracket bolt and position the valve aside.

  8.
  9. Remove the vacuum tank.
  10.
  11. Remove the intake manifold collector support bracket from the back of the intake manifold collector.
  12.
  13. Loosen the intake manifold collector bolts in the order illustrated and remove the intake manifold collector and gasket.
  14.

To install:

  1. Install a new gasket and the collector. Tighten the bolts in sequence to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
  2.
  3. Install the intake manifold collector support bracket to the back of the intake manifold collector.
  4.
  5. Install the vacuum tank.
  6.
  7. Install the VIAS control solenoid valve and the bracket bolt.
  8.
  9. Install the EVAP canister purge volume solenoid valve and bracket bolt.
  10.
  11. Connect the power steering hose bracket to the back of the intake manifold collector.
  12.
  13. Install the EGR tube-to-lower intake manifold collector nuts.
  14.
  15. Connect the following:
    1. EGR temperature sensor electrical connector
    2.
    3. EVAP canister purge hose.
    4.
    5. Electric throttle control actuator electrical connectors.
    6.
    7. PCV hose.
    8.
    9. Fuel injector electrical connectors.
    10.
    11. Vacuum lines to the upper intake manifold collector and power valve.
    12.
    13. Coolant hoses to the intake manifold collector.
    14.
    15. Power brake booster vacuum hose.
    16.

  16.
  17. Install upper air cleaner case, MAF sensor, and air cleaner-to-electric throttle control actuator tube as an assembly.
  18.
  19. Install the engine cover.
  20.
  21. After installation, it is necessary to re-calibrate the electric throttle control actuator as follows:
    1. Perform the -Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning- -when the harness connector of the electric throttle control actuator is disconnected.
    2.
