  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect or remove the following

    Negative battery cable
     
    Radiator hoses (upper and lower) and fan shroud
     
    Drive belts
     
    Pulley bracket
     
    water inlet and thermostat assembly
     

  6.  

To install:

  1. Use a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from water outlet housing.
  2.  
  3. Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket to mating surface of water outlet housing using Genuine RTV Silicone Sealant or equivalent.
  4.  
  5. Install thermostat with jiggle valve or air bleeder at upper side.
  6.  
  7. Install water outlet housing
  8.  
  9. Install water hose to water outlet housing.
  10.  
  11. To complete installation, reverse remaining removal procedure.
  12.  
  13. After installation, run engine for a few minutes and check for leaks.

NOTE
Do not disassemble engine coolant inlet and thermostat assembly. Replace them as a unit, if necessary.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect or remove the following

    Negative battery cable
     
    IPDM E/R bolts and position aside
     
    Lower radiator hose
     
    A/T oil cooler line
     
    Engine coolant inlet and thermostat assembly
     

  6.  
  7. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  8.  
  9. After installation, run engine for a few minutes and check for leaks.
  10.  
  11. Start and warm up the engine. Visually make sure that there are no engine coolant leaks or A/T fluid leaks.
