Although diesel fuel is less volatile than gasoline, it is injected at much higher pressures; therefore, it is still necessary to relieve any residual fuel pressure from the fuel system. Also observe all safety practices outlined in the preceding Fuel System Safety Precautions.
- Place the key in the OFF position.
- At the fuel filter assembly, locate the fuel system bleeder screw.
- Slowly open the bleeder screw until the fuel pressure is relieved.
