FLUID RECOMMENDATION



When adding or changing the power steering fluid, use Dexron®II Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF); the system uses approximately 1 1 / 8 qts. (1.06L) of fluid.

Like all other general maintenance items, check every 3,000 miles (4,831 km) or once a month.

Check the oil level in the reservoir by checking the side of the dipstick marked HOT after running the vehicle, or the side marked COLD when the car has not been used. In each case, the fluid should reach the appropriate full line. See Suspension & Steering of this information for system bleeding procedures if necessary.
