Fuel Pressure Regulator

The pressure regulator is located on the fuel return side of the fuel injection rail.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTION
Fuel injection systems remain under pressure after the engine has been turned OFF. Properly relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel lines. Also observe all safety practices outlined previously in the Fuel System Safety Precautions. Failure to do so may result in fire or personal injury.

  1. Following proper procedures, relieve fuel system residual pressure.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the fuel return line from the pressure regulator.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the retaining screw(s).
  8.  
  9. Carefully remove the regulator from the fuel rail assembly.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install new O-rings on the regulator assembly. Lightly lubricate the O-rings with gasoline.
  2.  
  3. Install the regulator to the fuel rail and secure with retaining screw(s).
  4.  
  5. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
  6.  
  7. Pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks.
  8.
