Turn Signal Switch

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



On many later models, the turn signal switch is part of a combination switch. The whole unit is removed together.

1982-86 Sentra
  1. Refer to the Steering Wheel removal and installation procedures in this section, and remove the steering wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering column cover(s).
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the retaining screws and the switch from the steering column.
  8.  
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedures.

Many models have turn signal switches with a tab that must fit into a hole in the steering shaft, in order for the system to return the switch to the neutral position after the turn has been made. Be sure to align the tab and the hole when installing.

1983-90 Pulsar and 1987-96 Sentra
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering column covers.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the turn signal side of the combination switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the retaining screws and separate the turn signal switch from the combination switch.
  8.  
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
