  2.

To install:

200SX: 7-8 notches

240SX: 6-8 notches

1982-88 Stanza sedan: 9-11 notches

1989-92 Stanza sedan: 11-13 notches

2WD Stanza Wagon: 11-17 notches

4WD Stanza Wagon: 8-9 notches

  1. Release the parking brake.
  2.
  3. Except on 200SX, adjust the lever stroke by loosening the lock-nut and tightening the adjusting nut to reduce the number of notches necessary for full engagement. Tighten the lock-nut. The lock-nut and adjuster can be found inside the handbrake assembly, in the passenger compartment. Some vehicles just have an adjusting nut. Access to the lock-nut is gained by removing the parking brake console or through an access hole in the console itself. On 200SX, the lever stroke is adjusted by turning the equalizer under the vehicle.
  4.
  5. Check the adjustment and repeat as necessary.
  6.
  7. After adjustment, check to see that the rear brake levers, at the calipers, return to their full off positions when the lever is released, and that the rear cables are not slack when the lever is released.
