CAUTION
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted areas, wash it away with water immediately.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Drain the brake fluid.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect or remove the following:
    CAUTION
    To remove the brake tubes, use a flare nut crowfoot and torque wrench to prevent the flare nuts and brake tubes from being damaged.



    Negative battery cable
     
    Cowl top extension
     
    Actuator harness connector from the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)
     



    Brake tubes
     
    Three bolts and the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)

To install:

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. To install brake tubes, use a flare nut crowfoot and torque wrench and tighten to specification.
  4.  
  5. After installation of the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), refill the brake system with new brake fluid. Never reuse drained brake fluid.
