REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Before performing any A/C work, consult the local authorities as to the legal regulations in your area. Many regions require that all A/C work be performed be certified professionals.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove all necessary equipment in order to gain access to the compressor mounting bolts.
  4.  
  5. Remove the compressor drive belt.
  6.  
  7. Discharge the system using an approved recovery/recycling machine. Refer to General Information & Maintenance .
  8.  
  9. Disconnect and plug the refrigerant lines.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect all electrical connections from the unit.
  12.  
  13. Remove the compressor mounting bolts and remove the compressor from the vehicle.
  14.  


WARNING
Never leave the compressor on its side or upside down for more than ten minutes or compressor oil will enter the low pressure chambers. Internal damage could result if the compressor were to be operated in that condition. If oil does invade these chambers, rotate the compressor by hand several times before operating it.

  1. Install in reverse of removal. When reconnecting the high and low pressure lines to the compressor, be sure to use new O-rings. Evacuate and charge the system.
