REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



240 Z Models

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument console finish panel screws and the panel.
  4.  
  5. Pull off the radio knobs and remove the retaining nuts behind them. Disconnect the power and speaker wiring, then the antenna cable at the connectors.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio.
  8.  
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
  10.  

260 and 280 Z Models

See Figure 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the floor console mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the choke control wire and the wiring harness connector from the console, then the console.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the radio power and antenna switch wires at the connectors. Remove the feeder cable.
  8.  
  9. Pull off the knobs and remove the escutcheon nuts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the radio-to-console box screws and remove it.
  12.  
  13. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
  14.

280 ZX and 300 ZX Models

See Figures 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower instrument panel cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the console.
  6.  
  7. Pull the radio knobs off the shafts. Remove the nuts from the shafts.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the power, the speaker and the antenna wiring from the rear of the radio.
  10.  
  11. Remove the radio bolts (at the bottom) and the radio from behind the instrument panel.
  12.  
  13. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
  14.
