Tow forward using the hooks shown in the illustration. It may be necessary to remove the front apron on some earlier models.
If the distance to be traveled is six miles or less, the vehicle may be towed with the front wheels off the ground. The speed must not exceed 20 mph (32 km/h) under these conditions.
If the transmission is not operating properly, greater distance is involved or higher speeds are required, tow the vehicle with the rear wheels off the ground and the steering wheel secured in a straight ahead position. The ignition key should be left in the lock in the OFF position. If the vehicle is towed on the front wheels with the ignition key removed (steering column locked), damage to the steering column or lock will result.
