Diagnosis & Testing
Mirror Motor

Specific to:

Honda Odyssey 2007-2008

  1. The power mirror motor can be tested by using the Honda Diagnostic System by following these steps:
    1. Select BODY ELECTRICAL from the SYSTEM SELECT MENU.
    2.  
    3. Select FUNCTION TESTS, and then the appropriate power mirror function test.
    4.

  3. If the mirror fails to work properly:
    1. Remove the power mirror assembly. For additional information, refer to the following Section, -Power Mirror, Removal and Installation.-
    2.  
    3. Check the mirror operation by connecting power and ground according to the table.

  5. If the mirror fails to work properly, replace the mirror actuator.

Mirror Switch

Specific to:

Honda Odyssey 2007-2008

  1. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
  2.  
  3. If the continuity is not as specified, remove the screws and replace the power mirror switch.

Removal & Installation
Motor

Specific to:

Honda Odyssey 2007-2008

  1. Carefully push on the top edge of the mirror holder by hand.
  2.  
  3. Put a shop towel in the opening between the lower edge of the mirror holder and the mirror housing to prevent scratches, and detach the bottom clips with a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape.
  4.  
  5. While heating the mirror holder from the opening between the mirror holder and the mirror housing with a heat gun, carefully pull out the bottom edge of the mirror holder to separate the adhesive, and then release the side clips.
    WARNING
    Do not heat the resin-made parts too much or you may damage them.

  7. Separate the mirror holder from the mirror motor by releasing the hooks. Disconnect the mirror defogger connectors, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Lower the window completely.
  10.  
  11. With your hand, carefully release the clip, lift the cover upward to release the hook, and remove the cover.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the wiring harness.
  14.  
  15. While holding the mirror, remove the mounting nuts that secure the mirror.
  16.  
  17. While holding the mirror, squeeze the retaining tabs on the connector clip, and then push out to remove the mirror.
  18.  
  19. Remove the gasket, and then remove the two screws that hold the wiring harness to the power mirror assembly.
    NOTE
    Record the terminal location and wire harness colors.

  21. Disconnect terminals No. 3 and No. 4 of the mirror wire harness from the 8P connector, if equipped with defogger.
  22.  
  23. Cut the wire harness with wire cutters.
  24.  
  25. Remove the three terminals from the connector.
  26.  
  27. Remove the three screws and separate the housing and bracket.
  28.  
  29. Remove the three screws and the power mirror motor.

To install:

  1. Route a new actuator harness through the bracket, and install the actuator in the reverse order of removal.

  3. Operate the mirror to ensure proper operation.

Switch

Specific to:

Honda Odyssey 2007-2008

  1. Insert the appropriate trim tool in the slot at the switch panel, and pry up to release the rear clip.
  2.  
  3. Pull out along the edge of the panel to release the hooks and front clip.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the power mirror switch connector (driver's) and the power window switch connector.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse order of removal.
