The wheel bearings are not adjustable. If they are not within specification, the wheel bearings must be replaced.

Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda Odyssey 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the knuckle. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Steering Knuckle, Removal and Installation.-
  4.  
  5. Separate the hub from the knuckle using the special tool and a hydraulic press. Be careful not to distort the splash guard. Hold onto the hub to keep it from falling when pressed clear.

  7. Remove the snap ring (A) and the splash guard from the knuckle.

  9. Press the wheel bearing out of the knuckle using the special tools and a press.

  11. Press the wheel bearing inner race (A) from the hub (B) using the special tool, commercially available bearing separator (C), and a press.

To install:

  1. Wash the knuckle and hub thoroughly in high flash point solvent before reassembly.
  2.  
  3. Press a new wheel bearing (A) into the knuckle (B) using the old bearing (C), a steel plate (D), the special tools, and a press. Place the wheel bearing on the knuckle with the magnetic encoder side (black color) facing toward the inside. Be careful not to damage the magnetic encoder.

  5. Install the snap ring (A) securely in the knuckle (B).
  6.  
  7. Install the splash guard (C), and tighten the screws (D).

  9. Install the hub (A) onto the knuckle (B) using the special tools shown and a hydraulic press. Be careful not to distort the splash guard (C).
