Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove bolt and nut mounting link at knuckle.
  8.  
  9. Remove bolt and nut mounting link at crossmember.
  10.  
  11. Remove link.

To install:


NOTE
Although the compression link is different end-to-end, there is no top and bottom.

  1. Position link and install bolt and nut mounting link at crossmember. Do not tighten bolt at this time.
  2.  
  3. Install bolt and nut mounting link at knuckle. Do not tighten bolt at this time.
  4.  
  5. Install tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (135 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Lower vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Position vehicle on alignment rack/drive-on hoist. Raise vehicle as necessary to access link fasteners.
  10.  
  11. Tighten compression link fasteners as follows:
    1. Bolt at crossmember: 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm)
    2.  
    3. Bolt at knuckle: 60 ft. lbs. (81 Nm)
    4.  

  12.  
  13. Perform wheel alignment.
  14.
