Shift Linkage/Cable

  1. Raise the adjustment lock tab so that the tab is fully raised and allows free movement of the cable in the adjustment assembly.
  2.  
  3. Position the shift lever in the N position. This is found by rotation the selector shaft clockwise from P through R to N .
  4.  
  5. Place the shift control assembly in N .
  6.  
  7. With the lock tab fully raised, push the tab down to fully seat in the cable adjuster to adjust the cable in the mounting bracket.

Throttle Valve Linkage

  1. Stop the engine.
  2.  

Check the throttle body for full travel prior to any adjustments by fully depressing the accelerator pedal and having an assistant check the throttle body for wide open throttle. If full throttle is not achieved, the accelerator system must be repaired before adjusting the TV cable.

  1. Depress and hold down the metal readjustment tab at the engine end of the TV cable.
  2.  
  3. Move the slider until it stops against the fitting.
  4.

  1. Release the adjustment tab.
  2.  
  3. Rotate the throttle lever, by hand, to its full travel position.
  4.  
  5. The slider must move (ratchet) toward the lever when the lever is rotated to its full travel position.
