The Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) sensor is used to control air flow, which aids in controlling engine emissions.

Removal & Installation

NOTE
Be sure that you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and navigation system, if equipped. Record the audio presets.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Wait 3 minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing any service.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the retaining bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the component from its mounting.
  12.  
  13. Discard the O-ring.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Be sure to use a new O-ring.
  4.  
  5. Tighten the sensor to 7 ft. lbs. (9 Nm).
  6.
