The Fiero is equipped with a completely removable plastic body bolted on a metal sub-assembly. The outer body panels are made of reaction Injection Molded urethane (RIM), glass fiber Reinforced Reaction Molded urethane (RRIM), Sheet Molded Compound (SMC) and Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO). They are rust resistant and can sustain minor impact without damage.
