Pontiac Fiero 1984-1988 Repair Guide

Body Lubrication

All mechanical parts of the body with contacting surfaces should be lubricated periodically.

Use a light penetrating oil or white lithium grease in a spray can to lubricate hard to reach areas and a grease type lubricant such as Lubriplate® or equivalent, for easily accessible surfaces, such as latches and strikers. Parts to be lubricated include: all hinges and latches at the doors and front and rear compartment lids, fuel filler door, headlight mechanisms, manual transmission shift linkage, brake and clutch pedal pivot points, throttle and emergency brake cables and sliding seat tracks.
