Stabilizer Bar (Sway Bar) & Links

Removal & Installation



  1. On models with a manual transaxle, remove the change control rod and extension bar.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
  4.  
  5. Remove the transverse member.
  6.  
  7. Remove the steering gear and linkage.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front lower arm.
  10.  
  11. Support the crossmember using a jack and remove the crossmember bolts and nuts.
  12.  
  13. Lower and remove the crossmember.
  14.  
  15. Remove the stabilizer control link.
  16.  
  17. Remove the stabilizer bracket.
  18.  
  19. Remove the stabilizer bushing.
  20.  
  21. Remove the stabilizer.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal, please note the following:
    1. Apply rubber grease to the inside surface of the stabilizer bushing.
    2.  
    3. Align the bushing with the inside of positioning plate on the stabilizer bar.
    4.  
    5. Install the stabilizer bracket as shown.
