Removal & Installation




NOTE
If the antilock control assembly needs to be replaced, the rear axle type and tire revolutions per mile must be programmed into the new CAB. For axle type refer to Differential and Driveline. For tire revolutions per mile. To program the CAB refer to the Chassis Diagnostic Manual.

  1. Remove left turn signal housing.
  2.  
  3. Remove the extension panel under the left turn signal housing opening.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the horn connector and remove the access cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the washer reservoir mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Lift up the reservoir and disconnect the pump motor connector and pump hose.
  10.  
  11. Remove the reservoir from the engine compartment.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect battery cables and remove the battery.
  14.  
  15. Remove the power distribution center.
  16.  
  17. Remove the battery and power distribution center mount.
  18.  
  19. Push the harness connectors locks to release the locks, then remove the connectors from the CAB.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect brake lines from HCU.
  22.  
  23. Remove the front mounting bolt through access opening.
  24.  
  25. Remove the rear mounting bolt from the engine compartment.
  26.  
  27. Tilt the assembly upward were the brake lines attach and remove the assembly from the mounting bracket.

To install:


NOTE

  1. Install the assembly into the mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Install mounting bolts and tighten to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the brake lines to HCU and tighten to 115 inch lbs. (13 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect the CAB harness connectors and lock in place.
  8.  
  9. Install the washer reservoir in the engine compartment. Connect the pump motor connector and pump hose.
  10.  
  11. Install the reservoir mounting screws.
  12.  
  13. Install the battery and power distribution center mount.
  14.  
  15. Install the power distribution center.
  16.  
  17. Install the battery and battery cables.
  18.  
  19. Connect the horn connector and install the access cover.
  20.  
  21. Install the extension panel.
  22.  
  23. Install left turn signal housing.
  24.  
  25. Bleed the brake system.
  26.
