Removal & Installation
Disconnect the negative battery cable(s).
On automatic transmission models, be sure the parking brake is set, then lower the shift lever to
On models with tilt wheels, lower the steering wheel.
On 97 Ram models, remove the ashtray and the two screws holding the ashtray bracket. Pull out the cup holder and remove the two screws holding the assembly. Unscrew and remove the ashtray bracket and cup holder.
Using a trim stick or other wide, flat-bladed tool, carefully pry around the perimeter of the cluster bezel to disengage the snap clips. Remove the bezel.
Remove the two screws which secure the radio.
Pull the radio out as far as possible until you can disconnect the wiring, antenna and ground wire (if fitted).
To install, reverse the removal process.
