Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Fuel tank
     

  6.  
  7. Pull the filter/regulator out of the rubber grommet. Cut the hose clamp and remove the fuel line.

  8.  

To install:

  1. Install the filter/regulator with a new clamp and push it into the rubber grommet.
  2.  
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Fuel tank
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  4.  
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  6.  

The gasoline powered vehicles covered by this manual all use a fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator mounted on top of the fuel pump module, located on the top of the fuel tank. No periodic service is required. The fuel filter/fuel regulator should only be replaced if it is clogged or if a diagnostic procedure indicates it is time to do so. No separate frame mounted filter is used on any of these vehicles.

Gasoline Engines



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  7. Pull the filter/regulator out of the rubber grommet. Cut the hose clamp and remove the fuel line.

  1. Install the filter/regulator with a new clamp and push it into the rubber grommet.

  3. Install or connect the following:

    Fuel tank
     
    Negative battery cable
